Fuglen brought a distinctly Norwegian coffee vocabulary to Tomigaya in 2012: light-roast single origins, careful filter extraction and a room furnished with mid-century Scandinavian pieces. The design feels lived-in rather than staged, and some of the furniture is available to buy.

Coffee is the daytime focus, from AeroPress to filter brews selected from a rotating list of traceable origins. After dark, the same room leans into bar service without losing its neighborhood-cafe ease.

Walk-in service and English-friendly ordering make it unusually approachable for a specialist coffee shop, though weekend afternoons can be crowded.

The coffee list makes traceability tangible: producer, region, variety and processing method are attached to named lots, and flavor descriptions move through raspberry, blood orange, apricot, pomegranate, black tea and cacao rather than a single house-roast profile. This rotating origin language is the clearest reason to ask the barista what is brewing that day.
